Novak Djokovic: gem, watch, match!

World Exclusive: HUBLOT x NOVAK ĐOKOVIĆ and Their First Collaboration!

It’s finally here. I remember the day Novak signed with Hublot, anticipating that this Swiss brand would be bold enough to partner with the greatest tennis player of all time. Since then, they’ve achieved many successes together, but now, after two years of collaboration, the moment all watch enthusiasts have been waiting for has arrived: Novak Đoković has his own watch. His legacy will forever be engraved in 100 luxurious watches now available worldwide.

It’s a great honor to have been invited by Hublot to attend the global premiere and presentation of this masterpiece, currently taking place in Paris. Sitting in the front row, I watched our legendary Novak Đoković share his experience and thoughts on this watch alongside Hublot’s CEO. The watch is spectacular, limited, and, in my opinion, the most beautiful Big Bang Unico ever produced. Yes, I’m subjective. Yes, I’m emotional and overwhelmed. But I truly believe they’ve created an extraordinary result.

Novak has predominantly worn Hublot’s Big Bang series watches, so it was no surprise that his personal touch would be added to this collection. Tennis-inspired details are everywhere. The first time I saw this watch (during a factory visit in August this year – yes, I had to keep it a secret for four months!), I immediately noticed the details on the bezel. You know how Hublot typically doesn’t align the H-shaped screws on their bezels? Well, Novak’s watch doesn’t have them. Instead, there are six screws shaped like tennis balls, creating the impression of championship balls flying across the court.

This is just one of the details adorning this 42mm watch, made of matte blue composite materials recycled from Novak’s shirts and tennis rackets. Yes, these 100 limited models are infused with Novak’s DNA entirely! The watch is 14.5mm thick and water-resistant up to 100m, making it a reliable companion, especially in summer (as its colors and materials exude a summery vibe).

The dynamic case is skeletonized, specifically “hollowed out” around the lugs, reducing material to enhance performance and lighten the watch. This timepiece has a mass of just 49.5 grams. To compare: tennis ball has a mass of 56 grams!

The bezel, made from the same recycled materials as the case, is part of a unique design that defies expectations. As anticipated, Novak’s signature is featured on this watch—found on the centrally placed chronograph second hand, giving it a personal touch. The rest of the dial follows the classic Big Bang Unico layout, with a skeletonized date on the edge and two chronograph subdials.

Now, about the strap! Of course, the watch is designed for Novak to wear during matches. That’s why it’s exceptionally light, with a blue Velcro strap (or white rubber) that feels almost weightless. Made in one piece, it wraps around the wrist with ease, thanks to a slight elasticity that expands just enough to slip on. Once past your hand, it contracts snugly to fit your wrist, keeping the watch perfectly in place. Novak began training with this watch to get used to wearing it, as he’s never played with a watch on his wrist before.

Until now, Novak wore these watches only after matches. We’ve had the privilege of seeing him many times on the podium, holding Grand Slam trophies, with a Hublot gracing his left wrist. From the next season, a new sight awaits: Novak on the court, with the watch on his wrist. I can’t wait for the new season—another opportunity to watch the greatest tennis player of all time in action!
